This residence occupies the site of one of Vail’s earliest houses, at the base of Golden Peak, overlooking the ski run and the base facility.

The owner requested that the new design incorporate several antique architectural elements purchased in Europe, including fireplace surrounds and furniture. Although the home is designed to resemble a Swiss Mountain Lodge and to fully embrace the charm and warmth of that building type, it features 21st century technology and comforts.

The residence appears as a modest single story home from the public road but has a majestic, "lodge" like appearance from the back, only to be experienced from skiers on the downhill slopes. An indoor-outdoor pool at the rear of the residence is surrounded by gracious stone terraces and overlooked by a heated second story stone deck.
