Lake Creek Lodge

Positioned dramatically in a 300 acre valley, this home, with remote guest cabins and service buildings was designed within the framework of a literary fiction that recounted the history of the land and its settlers over a period of 100 years. Positioned at the head of the valley and with a pond framing the foreground, the house is constructed with distinct wings that relate to the fictional tenants who added to the original structures over time. These successive additions are visible in subtle shifts of floor level, materials and period fixtures, as well as "ghost" windows, now walled in, that collectively create a powerful connection between the home, its story and the land in which it resides.
